A zero-leak device must be used when a rupture disc is installed in series with a safety valve. This device consists of a pressure gauge, relief valve, tee fitting, and connecting pipes, and is installed between the safety valve and rupture disc or in other enclosed spaces requiring backpressure venting.

According to API 520, ASME VIII, ISO 4126, GB 567, and GB 38599 standards, a relief valve and pressure gauge must be installed between the rupture disc and safety valve to ensure proper disc bursting.
