Product Overview

The Model 4500 pilot-operated pressure relief valve controls valve opening/closing through system pressure without requiring additional external force, enabling the system operating pressure to approach the set pressure more closely than standard spring-loaded pressure relief valves. It complies with API 526 (Chinese National Standard GB/T 28778) specifications for pilot-operated safety valves regarding operating pressure/temperature range and dimensions, with each valve body size featuring multiple flow channel areas.

    The pilot valve, top cover, valve stem and accessories, piston, and nozzle are all manufactured from stainless steel, meaning all components in contact with the medium are constructed from this material. This reduces the risk of oxide contamination on the seals, thereby extending their service life.

    The pilot valve maintains full lift under high back pressure. Unlike spring-loaded valves, which require differential pressure setting or additional balancing bellows for this function.

    The pilot valve employs a soft-sealed valve seat design to achieve optimal sealing performance. It offers material options suitable for various operating conditions. By reducing the need for valve seat grinding, the maintenance process becomes simpler.
  • Enhanced Valve Seat Sealing Performance
    Enhanced Valve Seat Sealing Performance
    The main valve employs a piston-driven mechanism. The piston area exceeds the valve seat opening area by more than 30%. This ensures that under all pressure conditions (up to the set point), the valve seat closing force is consistently at least 30% greater than the valve seat opening force. Consequently, this achieves more efficient valve seat sealing performance and effectively reduces the risk of valve seat leakage. When the system pressure is zero, the spring-loaded valve generates maximum seat clamping force. As the system pressure approaches the set value, the upward opening force of the valve approaches the closing force generated by the spring, resulting in nearly zero clamping force and potentially causing seat leakage. The pilot valve featuring a 30% differential pressure piston design maintains 30% seat clamping force near the set value, ensuring optimal seat sealing performance.
