Family Open Day | Discovering Industrial Safety at BasCo

The seeds of scientific curiosity often begin with a single moment of exploration.
To enrich the summer holidays of employees’ children, introduce them to industrial safety, and share the company’s achievements and caring culture, BasCo organized an educational company visit for employees’ families. Through guided tours, hands-on experiences and interactive experiments, the children embarked on a journey into industrial manufacturing and safety technology.

Filled with curiosity and excitement, the children arrived at the company and began their visit in the exhibition hall, guided by Chief Engineer Dr. Liu Lili. There, they learned about the company’s history, core products and industrial applications. They listened attentively as Dr. Liu explained complex ideas in accessible terms. Previously unfamiliar products such as rupture discs, pressure/vacuum relief valves and flame arresters gradually became recognizable “safety guardians.”

The children then became “junior engineers” as they entered the production area in an orderly group. The clean, well-organized workshop, precision automated equipment and rigorous production processes immediately caught their attention. They listened carefully to Dr. Liu’s explanations, pausing to watch the equipment in operation and taking a keen interest in this new industrial environment.

While the exhibition hall and workshop introduced the children to industry, the experiments brought the wonder of science to life.
Deputy General Manager Zhang Xue explained the principles of dust explosions and guided the children through an engaging demonstration using a tiny quantity of dust. The sudden burst of flame amazed them, giving them a vivid impression of the power of an explosion and a clearer understanding of the fundamentals of industrial safety protection.

The dust explosion and rupture disc venting demonstrations that followed held the children’s attention and prompted repeated exclamations of surprise.
Each experiment sparked their interest in science and made the importance of safety tangible and memorable.

A company’s development depends on its employees’ dedication and the support of their families. This educational visit was more than a learning experience: it also created a warm connection between the company and employees’ families.
By visiting their parents’ workplace, the children gained an understanding of the responsibilities and value behind their parents’ roles, while discovering the appeal of the company’s culture and industrial technology.
